6-months

Liliana turned 6 months on Tuesday, and we are heading to her check up today.

When we started this journey, 6 months felt like light years away. I thought by 6 months I would feel like a pro and the way people say everything gets easier by 3 months, I was convinced we would be on cruise control by now.

The good news is, I’m digging this mom gig. I’m head over heals in love with this little mushka, and can I just say how special it is to have this little person with me every day? She is the definition of SWEET. She smells sweet, her personality is as sweet as frosting, and I tell her daily that I could just eat her up I love her so….

I’m definitely not on cruise control though, and I would say things started to get easier around 5 months as apposed to 3. I would also say 6 months is my very favorite age so far.

Little miss thang is eating like a champ. She perfect the swallow/ get more in your mouth than on your face, while eating sweet potatoes.

So far she has eaten apples, sweet potatoes, avocado, peas, and zucchini. And she loves to eat them all.

She is on strike as far as rolling over goes. She looks at us like, “Ehhhhhhh, how about we just skip rolling over today guys?”

I practice sitting up with her a lot and she often teeters and falls on her side, but it always makes her smile.

Standing is her new happy place. She gets all dare devil and likes to support herself with only one hand while she does a wiggle, half squat thing. She has a little groove-thing going on and it makes me laugh.

Her teeth are bothering her, I can tell. She wants to bite my shoulder, my hand, a rag, her favorite Sophie-stuffed toy…everything. She moans and rubs her face. She gets annoyed too, which is hard because I’m not always sure I’m giving her any relief with her chew toys or anything really.

I’m so excited to announce that Liliana has officially started to consolidate her naps!!! I’m talking 1.5 to 2.5 hour naps (amazing). This might be the most life changing thing that has happened so far. And no more rocking to sleep in this house. We just lay her down and she does her thing. And she still needs the swaddle.

She loves, loves, loves stroller rides. We go on long walks at least once a day and it’s so fun now that the weather has started to get nicer. Gives me glimpses of what summer will be like.

And this little girl loves it when I sign to her. Any lullaby or the Bob Marley song, Don’t Worry About A Thing. I have a horrible voice, but she doesn’t think so yet. She could be mid cry and I start to sing and she smiles.

Love you baby girl! I’m so excited to see what the next 6 months will bring. I have a feeling big changes are on the horizon and I’m looking forward to getting to know you more and more.
